[2,611 of 3,885] Secret Fish, Heroic Darkshore and more

Saturday evening:

I bought 220 Tidespray Bracers at 80g each to complete Full of Scrap! What a horrible achievement, especially since I'm an enchanter and seeing all that stuff go to waste was depressing.

I then ended up in a random transmog hunt with my wife, leading to us completing Three Faced, one of the small number of non-soloable dungeon achievements. It's actually quite difficult, since it needs two players that know what they are doing *and* a way to slow the souls without causing them any damage.

Soul Power and Doesn't Go To Eleven were easier.

I then headed to Naz'jatar to kill Tidemistress Leth'sindra. It's an interesting rare since she is summoned by clicking on five egg sacs, which is why I never had her ping my NPCScan before. I still have fifteen more rares to kill before I get I Thought You Said They'd Be Rare?

Tideloard Aquatus was next - another summonable rare. Someone had already killed two of the three guys needed to summon him so it was a bit surprising when I killed the lone guy and immediately had the rare spawn.

It's worth noting that I'm killing these rares with War Mode on, so I get the Naz'jatar Battle Commendations needed for the mount and two toys.

Speaking of toys, I finally took a stab at Hot Swapper, which is from the jewelcrafting minigame. I'd literally never played this game before yet it turns out it's just the same code as the Naz'jatar quests which are pretty easy (just focus on a single color at a time to do them). I got it in my first shot!

Sunday morning:

Three Naz'jatar companion quests then Rajani rep. I picked up All Consuming along the way.

Heroic Darkshore to unlock the mount, then I bought it for 350 commendations. This also gave me Heroic: War For the Shore.

Sunday Evening:

Server transfer to Spirestone (my old home, to join my old guild) and I FINALLY got Secret Fish and Where to Find Them!

Monday morning:

I killed another Nazjatarget Eliminated, leaving just one left, along with the three companion quests for rep.

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
