[2,581 of 3,898] Tiragarde Sound, Scourge Event and lots of cleanup.

Two days ago:

Treasures of Tiragarde Sound to start. If you do this, don't do what I did and skim the wowhead comments - read them carefully instead. You have to gather four different treasure maps from Freehold pirates before you can loot four of the treasures so, umm, do that first.

Treasures took a bit of time to finish. I stopped off to buy some of the drinks needed for Three Sheets to the Wind, to kill a rare mob, to kill some Alliance and so on. Total time spent was likely almost 45 minutes in the end.

My bags were almost completely full of stuff so I headed back to the AH to purge everything in them, scrap the junk (for the scrapper achievement), and to clear out my bank, since the Scourge invasion is happening tomorrow and I assume I'll want to pick up some items from it. Which reminds me, it's probably time to double check if I should prep anything for the invasion to get any one-time-only items.

I have a bunch of mid-priced (20k) battle pets but all the prices on those dropped by 25% today. I'm happy to wait on getting money for those. I DID notice quite a few of my cheaper xmog items sold however.

A quick detour to Naz'jatar to do my daily companion quests (and this time I remembered to check Mrrl for the items). I think a daily set of checks should be to check Mrrl, do the companion quests, then check the macro for any missing chests for Puzzle Performer, then do a quick check for rares, with Periodic Destruction done weekly to finish up.

Instead of playing more, I switched over to the Shadowlands beta for the first time (since Blizzcon 2019 anyway). I'm probably going to go with the Night Fae for their Soulshape ability where you can teleport, although Door of Shadows also looks interesting.

Yesterday morning:

I logged in to do the Scourge invasion event.

Icecrown was insanely laggy. Getting there was easy with my Argent Crusader's tabard.

I picked up the Golden Sunsoaker for Secret Fish and Where to Find Them, meaning I'm down to my last fish - the Elusive Moonfish.

I did the questline and the dailies. It looks like the only useful thing to pick up is the pet, although I may end up getting the xmog set as well. The pet is selling for 22k right now but I expect that to drop substantially. When it does, I'll probably try and buy a whole bunch of them for long-term appreciation, especially if it's never going to be available again. Filling a gbank tab full of them may be a good idea.

The Nathanos Blightcaller quest took me to EPL and so I decided to work on the storyline quests while I was there - it's one of the few zones I never finished (because I quested there pre-Cataclysm).

Yesterday evening:

The quests in EPL are straighforward enough, although I DID come across the removed from game item that lets you gather scourgestones for the Argent Dawn. They are completely useless now but I gathered a few anyway to see if they worked the same way as the scourgestones for the event that just started.

I also picked up a S.E.L.F.I.E. shot that I was missing (thanks to HandyNotes!).

The Eastern Plaguelands Quests achievement, along with Full Caravan took a solid two hours even at max level. This must have been a whole lot of content when the levels were lower. But anyway, it was a fun diversion and I'm finished with it.

Then, a quick trip back to Naz'jatar to do the weekly for Periodic Destruction and a quick check for Puzzle Performer chests. I managed to get a Back to the Depths group going too, so I'm now 3/10 for Back to the Depths! Some more companion dailies and a couple of  rares and I called it a night.

This morning:

Naz;jatar daily companion quests. I also picked up a Sandshell Sunclaw pet that I was missing and Blind Eye for the Biggest Bag achievement and another puzzle chest I was missing.

Island expeditions next. PROTIP: don't mass pull yettis or apes, they stun like crazy. I hit 50x Mythic islands this week, giving me Expert Expeditioner. I still have no idea what I'm going to do about the PVP islands. I'm also at 537 dubloons now - I need 1000 for the mount (and a lot more for chests to get the other mounts).

Next was a deep clean of all my bags and a review of my quests. Weird rare but probably useless items went into void storage. This is all being done so that I can quest in shadowlands without a whole bunch of crap in my bags (and with some extra gold if possible).

Speaking of gold, someone bought my Dark and Stormy (costs about 20s) for 1800g on the AH. It's a drink solely used for the achievement. Laziness is awesome!

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
