[2544 of 3646] Admiral, Mechagon and Naz'jatar plus a ten-person achievement!

First up, and only because it's been sitting in my "Achievements" tracker for months is that I finally completed Admiral by finishing 1000 garrison naval battles. This has been a slow achievement to  get because I swapped out all of my naval equipment that allows different types of battles to be completed and replaced them with equipment that grants some fish on completion of the battle. This equipment counts as having "fished" the fish, which completed a bunch of "catch 100 of X fish" achievements and it also supposedly has a chance to catch the Sea Turtle mount, which is why I kept it. Anyway, it's been months so I'm glad to no longer see this one on my list. I've been fairly carefully working on a lot of the Mechagon achievements and I have a whole lot of them in an "almost finished" state with just two or three sub-objectives left. Mechagon is one of those zones where it takes quite a long time to learn all of the mechanical

[2534 of 3646] Mechagon and Mythic 15s

It's been a fun couple of days (okay, hours, since I don't get to play all day long). I knocked out another M15 (Junkyard) meaning I only need five more of them to get my Awakened Mindborer . It's worth noting that I paid 89,000g for the group, although I'm starting to feel like I can hold my own - I out DPS'ed two of the three people carrying me. I finally got the last rank 3 essence I needed by obtaining Revered with the Uldum Accord, and I picked up another 480 Azerite item. After that, I've been working on Mechagon mostly. I completed a whole bunch of sub-achievements and finally got the hang of a lot of the systems like drill rigs. I picked up a large stack of missing blueprints too. Again, this whole thing is reminding me that it's worth it to try to fully understand all of the systems in place on day one, instead of thinking "I'll get to that later", since I missed out on so much while regularly questing here. I'll remember that for

[2238 of 3346] Mechagon spare parts farming

Over the last few days I've been working on my gear, including doing the occasional sim and spending a bit of time working out what the best talents/ gear/ corruption / azerite essences and so on are. One of the things I've needed to do is to is get rank three in each of my four essences that I'm using for Mythic+ - Blood of the Enemy, Purification Protocol, Breath of the Dying and Essence of the Focusing Iris. In order to get rank 3 Purification protocol, I ended up having to farm 20 S.P.A.R.E. Crate's, which meant joining a Mechagon "spare parts" farming group. I'd never seen the need to do this before but I'm glad that I did. The whole thing was super-efficient, with me just spamming AOE for an hour while others tagged and pulled mobs to the group. Importantly, they use the weather control tower nearby to change the weather to "raining" so that the mobs also have much lower HP, something I didn't think about doing before. I ended up w

[2233 of 3346] Brawl'Gar Arena, Island Expeditions, Legendary Cloak and Mythic +15's.

My default stance is that I usually don't bother getting a decent set of gear during the expansion because when a new patch comes out, it's all obsolete anyway. This strategy means that working on current-gen content seldom works out - I'm usually undergeared. The main reason for this in the past has been that I don't have enough time in my day to devote to mythic raiding, but I realized that Mythic+ is still a perfectly fine way to gather gear and so for the last few weeks I've been trying to raise my ilevel here and there. I'm at 465 ilevel now, hardy spectacular but enough that I can enjoy most of the current content at least. Because of this gear boost, I've decided to finally focus on completing the Brawler's Guild questline before the mount goes away for good in a month or two. I also plan on completing all +15 keys in time in order to get that achievement (and mount) as well as doing enough Island Expeditions to finish the vast majority of those
