[2,598 of 3,884] Tiragarde Sound and stuff

Monday evening:

I tried out the wow beta a few days ago and was unimpressed with the Night Fae special ability, especially since we have Ghost Wolf. Looking at the other covenants, I think that Venthyr makes the most sense for an Elemental Shaman as the chainheal/lightning spell and the teleport are both excellent additions. Technically kirian has a better DPS for M+ but I want the teleport.

Note to self: Elemental Equilibrium is the best raid and M+ legendary at the moment.

Anyway, back to farming stuff. I picked up some extra pet tokens and then headed to Mechagon for one more quest there. I was happy to see Toys For Destruction was up which (FINALLY!) gave me Playtime's Over as a quest. Now I just need Taking the Air Out and I'll be totally finished with Outside Influences. For those unaware, it can take months to get certain quests to spawn and checking every day is tedious.

882 Polished Pet Charms now :)

I went to Naz'jatar and picked up one of the few puzzle chests I still needed (2 left now). I also killed two more rares I' needed and grabbed a champion for Naz'jatarget eliminated (2 left) which gave me a Scrying Store that I need for Nothing to Scry About, along with two others for a total of three. Guess I'm working on that tonight :)

I also took part in my fifth Summons from the Depths (need 10 total), which is a lot more than a week ago where I had... one.

Tuesday reset:

Puzzle performer was first (4 left!). I also noted that almost every rare seems to be up at reset time and so ended up getting another Summons From the Depths in (now 6 of 10)

I did my three companion dailies and killed a few more rares then did a pet quest for some more charms.

I then realized I had four Scrying Stones and so worked on Nothing to Scry About but after the first one I'd only found a single chest so gave up :(

Tuesday evening:

I picked up (from the AH) the last drink I needed for Three Sheets to the Wind! I also picked up a Fried Boar Sausage for Sausage Sampler!

I then picked up more pet charms (now at 955 - I need 1000 to get the increase in storage).

I noticed that ATT doesn't include Shanty Raid in Tiragarde Sound, despite the fact that it's an exploration achievement for that area. That's achievement 2,598 of 3884!

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
