[2,731 of 3,900] Direhorn and exploration achievements

I did my Direhorn dailies (1 more day to go!) and then decided to work on something different. Firing up my achievements list, I saw that I'd yet to kill the Whale Shark in Vashj'ir, so off I went. [From Hell's Heart I Stab at Thee] was mine!

I felt like doing another "exploration" achievement and so spent a pleasant fifteen minutes in Nazmir frog hunting for [Hoppin' Sad]

For bonus points, I hunted for a couple of critters to /love.

Wednesday morning started with a jaunt to visit my Child of Torcali. After a fun questline, I've finally managed to pick up [How to Train Your Direhorn]!

Next, to Naz'jatar where once again I don't have a Stronge Oceanic Sediment to finish my quest. My last puzzle for [Puzzle Performer] is also missing, so I just did the bodyguard dailies.

I hung around at 9am for [Back to the Depths!] but it didn't spawn, even seven minutes later.

I headed over to Siltstalker the Packmother with the hope of spawning Banescale the Packfather on her death. Alas no luck.

Wednesday evening and I decided to head to Frostfire Ridge to see if I could get lucky for [Writing in the Snow] (it spawns in a random location occasionally). No luck but I managed to snag a couple of critters to /love for [To All the Squirrels Through Time and Space]. Or at least I thought I did - Frostfur Rat is bugged in exactly the same way that one of the BFA achievements is bugged (a gekkoka I think). Frustrating!

Deciding I want to do something completely different, I chose to start work on getting the secret Lucid Nightmare mount. Guide is here: https://www.wowhead.com/guides/lucid-nightmare-secret-mount

I just realized I can use my Wormhole Generator: Northrend to go straight to Storm Peaks - so useful!

I ended up getting stuck on the An'Quiraj puzzle and logged out, when I logged back in I was back at the entrance and so gave up.

I went to do the exploration quest [The Zandalari Prophecy] but realized I had some Shado-Pan dailies I could do along the way, making progress on several achievements. Once on the Isle of Thunder, I killed Molthor (a rare I needed) then finished [The Zandalari Prophecy] then [Rumbles of Thunder]. I then killed Progenitus (another rare) and /bowed to a Kroshik egg :)

Next up, [Gods and Monsters] was another quick one.

My current plan is to keep working on my multi-character stuff (just need the Death Knight campaign to finish all five, then I can work on professions) as well as picking up as many "easy" achievements as possible. I want to hit 2,900 of 3,900 as soon as possible because that way I only have 1000 more to go (until the next xpac :)

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
