[2,725 of 3,900] Oldschool raids and dungeons

First up, Naz'jatar to get Periodic Destruction. It's taken fourteen weeks to get this achievement and I'm ready to put it to bed. Except... I can't finish because I'm missing a Strange Oceanic Sediment. I head to the AH. Sold out! I've checked every day since for a week and there isn't a single one on the AH. This achievement is driving me nuts :)

I've been active in working on getting my Direhorn mount. I completed the daily every day this week and I'l only two days from completion now (14th June, 2021). At the same time, I check for a rare that I need every day but so far he's never there.

I finished the hunter campaign on saturday. My wife helped a bunch at the end to complete the final dungeon without a group. I'm glad to be done - trying to remember how to play so many different classes is a pain. My strong preference is to do every achievement on my Shaman wherever possible, even if another class is better suited.

Naz'jatar dailies are still happening when I remember. I have all three bodyguards up to rank 13 (so I still have more than 50% to go).

Back to the Argent Tournament grounds for my remaining two achievements here. [I've Had Worse] was very simple - just one-shot him. [The Faceroller] was tougher. The trick is to kill all the adds, then face away from the paladin until he casts his hammer, then turn around and use the special action button to kill him in one shot.

While I was in the area, I picked up the full set of 25-person Crusader achievements. Still in a nostalgic mood, my wife and I headed to heroic Deathwing. This was one of the tougher old raids as Deathwing requires a fairly complex strategy that took us a while to master. Oh, I also also finally got the music scroll for my garrison here!

Deciding that even more old-school content was what we wanted, we headed to mythic Highmaul next, netting five more achievements. There is an achievement in here that requires fifteen stacks of a flame debuff to complete. We tried several times but couldn't get the stacks above 11. I'll try again sometime later.

Current focus: I need to finish the Demon Hunter campaign. That will give me all five and I can most stop questing with this set of alts. As soon as that's done, I'm going to max out every profession using the list of characters I made a few weeks ago. To mix things up I'm going to solo a bunch of the old dungeon and raid content that I'm still missing.

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
