[2,664 of 3,896] Something's Not Quite Right...

Off to Ardenweald today, as I have both "Training in Ardenweald" and "A Call to Ardenweald" as my callings.

Although I planned to do daily quests, I ended up starting to do some of the quests for Sojourner of Ardenweald instead. I completed the first section of that before picking up a new pet (Gorn Harrier) from a dead body.

One of my addons (Overachiever, I think), pointed out that the Tough Crowd daily quest had an achievement associated with it that I'd yet to complete. (Something's Not Quite Right...) According to Wowhead, the simplest way to get the achievement is to install the "idTip" addon and then check the NPCs for the id of "170080" Simple enough :)

I started playing again after six pm, focusing on finishing my two covenants and then clearing out some adventures. I finally have a decent stable of adventurers and I'm working on the higher-level campaign quests now - the current one has a pet as a reward.

Since I'm already back at the covenant, I decided to take the time to finish up as many of the covenant quests (e.g. the Ember Court) and related items as I can. By far the biggest upgrade seems to be the portal to Oribus from Sinfall - I just need another 8500 anima to get Mirror's Edge and the portal.

The daily calling today is Revendreth, which is perfect. It was a quick win. I followed up with 1500 honor in random battlegrounds for the weekly, then I did the Stewart quest for Ember Court refreshments. Irritatingly, Stewart is in a different location that Wowhead gives.

The Ember Court itself is fine, if a bit overwhelming. It looks like I have a TON of achievements to pick up here so it will probably take me quite a while to do everything.

Friday, I worked on Revendreth calling, then did the Thrall quest in Torghast, followed by the first Twisting caverns quest. I ended up not realizing how long twisting caverns lasted and had to give up on floor seven.

Ardenweald was next for three daily quests. I picked up some pets that I was missing along the way.

Along the way, I picked up two achievements by accident. Explore Maldraxxus is obvious enough but the Covenant Combat one was particularly silly - I got in after being mind-controlled in LFR :)

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
