End of Shadowlands

 Some quick wins to start:

I've resigned myself to not finishing the meta achievement, mostly because of the Necrolord quests that I simply can't finish in time. Surprisingly, the game is now fun again. I felt pretty down about playing because I hated the obvious time-sink nature of those quests in particular. A 20 second cooldown on an ability that needed to be clicked fifteen times for a single quest was just garbage. There was no gameplay there, just an intentional waste of player's time.

I picked up an Ember Court achievement soon after, along with [Mush Appreciated] the following day.

11/23/22 - I'm three quests short for Abominable Lives at the moment.

11/24/22 - I've started clearing out my bags in preparation for the expansion. The first thing I needed to do was finish the Lil' Abom pet - I had all the parts bar the head, so I went to the Maw in search of it.

Next stop, Korthia, both for the weekly and to try to close out as many achievements as possible there. I also have things like 9/10 razorwing eggs in my bag and I'd like to finish that today and get the mount.

It didn't take long to get the last egg and I'm now the proud owner of a Dusklight Razorwing!

After that, I picked up a bunch of artifacts for [Reliquary Restoration] and cleared out some quests I still had in my list :) I just need a but over 5000 more Archivist's Codex rep to finish that off as well.

11/25/22 - I did some more Stitchyard stuff and then worked on some quests, finally picking up [Sojourner of Maldraxxus] which led to [Loremaster of Shadowlands]!

I decided to do some world quests as part of the "do 20 world quests for the Ember Court" and picked up [Battle in the Shadowlands] in the process!

[Party Palace] was the reward from 20 world quests :)

11/28/22 - I'm clearing out some old quests from my log before Dragonflight and ended up doing Mythic Trial of Valor for the first time. Soloing it was actually moderately difficult since you ideally need two people for the first boss and even Helya is kind of annoying solo. As a tip: use underwater breathing to avoid her drowning mechanic.

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
