[2,830 of 4,126] Zereth Mortis Mostly

Monday Evening (May 30 2020):

I'm starting to work on [Traversing the Spheres]. I picked up several of the items but it looks like others are quite grind/RNG dependent.

Tuesday Morning:

Before the weekly downtime (until 3pm!). I picked up another particularly well-hidden schematic, did the spheres quest for Firim and managed to get to the General in time to kill him - this was one of the ones I still needed for [Adventurer of Zereth Mortis]

Looking through All The Things! I noticed that I just need the Wicked Pocopoc costume to finish that achievement. I'm using the guide here to get all the items: https://www.wowhead.com/item=190062/wicked-pocopoc#comments

I got the Kismetric Circlet from the first attempt in the second location for Trace Enigmet! The other items I've managed to gradually pick up by tapping a large number of pheres. One trick: you have to FACE the sphere. That's why standing on top of it often doesn't work.

All in all, it took me about 25 minutes to collect everything.

[Fashion of the First Ones] is mine!

Wednesday morning:

I have a brief half-hour break from work so I'm trying to pick up a few more Zereth Mortis things. I started off by sending out my adventurers in Revendreth (my third one is almost level 60 for the achievement!) and doing my Anima Conductor for the day and then I headed to Zereth Mortis.

I picked up the weekly and the dailies and decided to get the Schematic: Omnipotential Core that was taunting me on my map. https://www.wowhead.com/item=189440/schematic-omnipotential-core#comments This is another puzzle one that involves first unlocking a new teleportation zone, then gathering 60 cosmic energy and going to the zone and then completing a gnarly jumping puzzle. Along the way, a rare was up, which I grabbed. This led to me getting Resonating Disc, which is a quest to unlock Cypher weapons apparently. Looks like it was just added in 9.2.5 which launched last night.

The jumping puzzle itself wasn't too bad, although it took me a moment to actually find the item once I was in the right spot.

I did a couple of Firim quests and received the Violent Poultrid schematic as a reward as well.

In the evening, I dropped off my schematics and noticed Empowered Key on my minimap. After looking it up, I found that it helps to summon Furidan, which I needed for Adventurer of Zereth Mortis. A quick kill later and I'm down to just needing five more.

Thursday morning:

I leveled up Theotar to 60, giving me the third adventurer for [Adventures: Off To Adventure]

I hearthed to Oribos, thinking to pick up the weekly quest, and discovered a few new ones from 9.2.5 including Loredon.

I found some extra anima in my mailbox, enough to start researching the fourth tier of my sanctum special ability.

I headed back to Zereth Mortis, planning on working on the weekly some more, but rolling server restarts were beginning, so I just picked up the containment thing and the forge tap from Firim and set off to see if Dominated Irregular was up to use the Containment Trap on. It wasn't, but I did get a Protoform Sentience Crown to help craft a mount, dropped by the dudes I needed to kill to make the Dominated Irregular spawn. I decided to stay in the area so as to be in the right spot once the server restarts.

After reset, I tried again. No luck with the Irregular again so I headed off to get the Schematic: Ambestan Darter and possibly the one for Goldplate Bufonid.

On the way, the Corrupted Architect popped and I picked up a Glimmer of Animation. I also found the Corrupted Runehoardeer nearby for [Completing the Code]. I also managed to find Runethief.

A quick Feasting kill immediately turned into a Xyrath the Covetous kill - one of the few I still needed for Adventurer!

Thursday evening: I just saw this in the patch notes: "All Covenant Sanctum feature achievements are now visible and count towards your character's total achievement points, regardless of which covenant your character currently belongs to. Nonetheless, all characters must belong to a Covenant to earn that Covenant’s specific achievements.

Damn. That is a LOT more stuff to do.

Friday afternoon: I farmed the Goldplate Bufonid schematic, which only took three or four kills to get. Turning that in, I spotted a Sandworn Chest which contained another Pocopoc costume.

Friday evening: another rare for Adventurer, leaving just three more to go. I also finished the weekly.

I skipped a week of playing. It's June 12th now:

I picked up Suspicious Nesmin with the Unstable Containment Trap. This guy rarely seems to be around so I was glad to find him.

Friday:

[2500 World Quests Complete] while working on Enlightened rep!

[Dedication to the Restoration] right after!

Mid afternoon, I spotted Oktaris, the Provoked and so now only need two more for Adventurer.

Sunday: I was supposed to be on a flight to London right now, but it was cancelled, so I'm playing WoW briefly and flying out tomorrow.

I picked up [Return to Lordaeron] - the questline was okay, although I found it funny that a couple of people decided that all of The Forsaken would no longer be ruled by a single leader (Sylvannis) and should instead be represented by a council... and then promptly decided that *they* were that council without ever talking to any of thee rest of the Forsaken. :)

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening ...
