PVP Pet Battles

Slow going with PVP pet battles right now. I'm grinding through all of the Family Brawler achievements in order to get the meta. This is much more difficult than it used to be because of the new matchmaking system where similarly-experienced players tend to get matched against each other more frequently than before. I'm only winning one in every 3-4 battles right now with my Magic-type team and it's pretty frustrating, especially because I usually get matched up against the same opponents repeatedly. Assuming I get all of these finished this week, I still need to win another 300 battles with a level 25 team for the 1000 match wins achievement. I'll post when I find a comp that I particularly like for that one. Once those are done, I then need to continue work on the other "Family" achievements for the various trainers, then, to round things out, I'll need to get a couple more celestial tournament pets, finish Deadmines and then grind roughly 4000 PVE and PVP wins. These last two I may punt on a bit - they are easy enough (just battling the level 1 pets in Org is enough to win 5000 battles) but I suspect many of them will be completed naturally over time, so no need to rush them. I've also been grinding out the rest of my Draenor garrison achievements. I'm closing in on the "Exalted with all bodyguards" achievement, as well as the "1000 Naval Battles" one (a tip: make sure you equip your ships with fishing nets - these actually count as catching the fish for some fishing achievements). Back to the grind...

8/4/24: [Into the Storm]! I FINALLY had this one pop after over a month of waiting. 8/21/24: Taivan! I finished this with less than a day before TWW came out. 8/28/24: Lots of TWW achievements. I got 80 after three days and maxed out enchanting and did the campaign up until it's blocked. 9/12/24: [Sojourner of Azj-Kahet]! This one took a fair bit of time but was generally fun to do. I'm going to work on the other ones now, zone by zone. 10/20/24: [Loremaster of Khaz Algar]!

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

[3,445 of 5,450] You Know How to Reach Me

7/3/24: [Neltharion's Legacy] and [Legend of the Multiverse]! I picked this up from the weekly time vault. [Scroll Hunter]! This one I am happy to be done with. I thought it was going to be a lot harder - wowhead comments imply as much. In the end it probably took two hours of farming Froststone Vault with crystals. [Treasures of Thaldraszus]! 7/8/24: [Treasures of the Azure Span]! [Wake Me Up]! [Treasure Hunter of the Dragon Isles]! [Treasures of the Waking Shores]! I have no more treasures to find! This one promised to be a slog but actually was easy enough, I just picked up Disturbed Dirt and Expedition Packs while doing other things like hunts. 7/9/24: [Forbidden Spoils]! 7/11/24: [Hunt Master]! I finally figured out how hunts work and realized that they don't show up until you are actually in the zone. As a result I can finally work on [Disgruntled Hunter] [Under the Weather]! I just logged in every two hours and got all three I was missing in a row!   7/13/24: I've b...
