Post-Blizzcon update

Blizzcon was fun. Like last year, I spent most of the time watching the arena finals - some *extremely* close games and skillful play all around. The new expansion looks good and I played the demo for a bit - it reminds me of Argus in the way the quests and things are laid out. I'm particularly looking forward to the new "tower" dungeon that is randomly generated like a roguuelike game.

I'm still running Molten Core each week - looks like another 14 weeks to hit Exalted though. I plan on doing Firelands some time soon to finish off that rep and I need to grind out the four goblin reps more at some point. I hate grinding but perhaps I can find a way to make it enjoyable.

Looking for some more easy wins, I spotted the following:

It looks like a mythic run of Siege of Orgrimmar is in the cards.

Speaking of older raids, I also have a huge gap in collecting all the set armors for each of them. I'm fairly confident that within fourteen weeks or so I'll eventually get the rest of my Molten Core set pieces (missing just three of them) but the other raids are going to be a bit of a pain. I *think* the best way to handle these is to armor-stack and run with friends who are willing to trade me their drops. For dungeons like BWL, this is pretty easy since anyone in the raid has a chance to get any item from a boss.

I also have a lot of work to do for PVP. I'm finally bothering to learn how to play Elemental shamans properly in PVP, starting with learning the optimal burst damage rotation.

8/4/24: [Into the Storm]! I FINALLY had this one pop after over a month of waiting. 8/21/24: Taivan! I finished this with less than a day before TWW came out. 8/28/24: Lots of TWW achievements. I got 80 after three days and maxed out enchanting and did the campaign up until it's blocked. 9/12/24: [Sojourner of Azj-Kahet]! This one took a fair bit of time but was generally fun to do. I'm going to work on the other ones now, zone by zone. 10/20/24: [Loremaster of Khaz Algar]!

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your ...

[3,445 of 5,450] You Know How to Reach Me

7/3/24: [Neltharion's Legacy] and [Legend of the Multiverse]! I picked this up from the weekly time vault. [Scroll Hunter]! This one I am happy to be done with. I thought it was going to be a lot harder - wowhead comments imply as much. In the end it probably took two hours of farming Froststone Vault with crystals. [Treasures of Thaldraszus]! 7/8/24: [Treasures of the Azure Span]! [Wake Me Up]! [Treasure Hunter of the Dragon Isles]! [Treasures of the Waking Shores]! I have no more treasures to find! This one promised to be a slog but actually was easy enough, I just picked up Disturbed Dirt and Expedition Packs while doing other things like hunts. 7/9/24: [Forbidden Spoils]! 7/11/24: [Hunt Master]! I finally figured out how hunts work and realized that they don't show up until you are actually in the zone. As a result I can finally work on [Disgruntled Hunter] [Under the Weather]! I just logged in every two hours and got all three I was missing in a row!   7/13/24: I've b...
