So, what have I been doing?

Sorry it's taken so long for an update. I kind of stalled out after hitting 8000.

It looks like all achievements in 16 more days probably won't happen, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying. I'm simply goign to turn it into "all achievements as quickly as possible". It also stung a little that all of the Kalimdor quests were reset! I lost at least 100 points right there.

I'm going to start working on the new cataclysm achievements today, but first, I'll fill you in on what has been going on.

Firstly, I've been making gold. Almost all of my time has been spent on gold generation. I have a nice little business on both the alliance and horde side factions selling Heirloom enchants to all the new rerollers that are coming in for cataclysm. I have over 100 of every low level scroll right now and I'm making a solid 4000g a day with 30 minutes work (after a LOT of fixed setup costs).

In addition to the scrolls, I've been trading pets and recipes between factions. This is probably my biggest moneymaker and the reason I'm pulling in 4000g in 30 minutes a day. The argent tournament pets have been selling for 400g on the Horde side and almost 2000g each for the same pet on alliance side. With the help of my wife, I've been moving these over the neutral AH and selling them on the opposite faction. I did the same with all my enchants and I basically doubled my usual sales.

There are certain recipes (such as Savoury Deviate Delight and Giant Growth) that are very cheap horde-side and very expensive alliance side. I've been flipping these as well.

So why the focus on gold generation when I should be out getting achievements? There are still a few expensive achievements (like the motorbike) that I need to pick up. In addition, I simply don't want to worry about gold in Cataclysm. I want to focus on busting out achievements as quickly as possible with my goal being one of the first people to complete everything in the game after the expansion is done.

Anyway, back the the achievements part. I'm going to spend the day doing dailies and working on my BC reputations since I want to avoid being stuck doing old content when the expansion arrives.

Next, I'm going to start writing up a guide. There are a lot of achievement-chasers out there and so far, I haven't seen a comprehensive guide to getting every achievement in the game. I think that I could put one together over the coming weeks, showing the optimal way to get everything starting from nothing. There is a lot to think about, since so many of the achievements are interconnected.

Anyway, I'm not dead and I haven't stopped playing. Expect to see an update almost every day from now on as I start to bust out all the stuff I've been putting off.

Remember to Share (300 Toys)!

This one has taken a while. I finally picked up 300 toys (and thus the mount for the achievement) after starting to seriously work on my Archaeology achievements for the first time. I've been doing the fortnightly Legion archaeology quests for a while (and thus had 800 skill) but I completely ignored this profession in earlier expansions as it seemed seriously boring. With some knowledge and a good addon, it's much better however. Some tips if you're just starting to work on archaeology: 1. Download the "Archy" addon. This addon does several things: first, it shows you the location and completion status of all digsites in the current continent. Second, it automatically sets the closes one as a waypoint for TomTom. Third, it indicates when it's possible to solve an artifact with and without a keystone, so you don't have to constantly check your archaeology screen. On top of that, the distance indicator shows when you are in the correct range from your

Beta update - best achievement EVER!

It probably won't make it to live. But check out this feat of strength from the beta:

A Song of Wind and Water

I've been working on Oracles and Ogri'la rep every day and have about four days to go. One thing I've noticed about these older daily quests is that there is little provision for high-level players that one-shot everything. Two quests in particular stand out as being annoying until you learn the high-level trick. The first is Banish More Demons in Blade's Edge. This involves placing a portal on the ground then killing demons within a few feet of the portal. The portal has a one-minute cooldown and you need fifteen demons. It was a slow exercise in frustration because kiting further-away demons was difficult sue to all my abilities one-shotting them before they got near. In the end, I learned to use the Shaman's "Purge" ability to aggro mobs without killing them and pull them close to the portal. The second, and more annoying, quest that isn't scaled for high-level players is the Ogri-la's Song of Wind and Water .  This involves weakening
